Splatoon 3 will still be available in 2022. A Nintendo commercial aired during The Game Awards confirmed this. After sharing the September Direct Splatoon 3 trailer, Nintendo didn’t have much else to say about Splatoon 3. This trailer showed multiplayer gameplay and a teaser about the bizarre business we’ll be doing in single-player campaigns.
Story mode promises to be an exciting ride. Our Squid Kid protagonist travels through time and space with various Inklings. The series will allow players to experience the Octoling role for the first time. Although much of the game remains a mystery, it appears that we will be facing an unknown evil force.
Nintendo says that multiplayer will allow players to create new maps, weapons and gear. Nintendo teased that players may “customize their characters” in surprising new ways. Although no specific information was provided, players may be able to change the appearance of their characters or pick a particular weapon set.
Splatoon’s original game was released in 2015. A sequel followed in 2017. Although rumours about multiple games in development were floating around for a while, Nintendo finally confirmed that the next game will launch sometime in 2022. We don’t know much more about the game.
It’s difficult to predict the future based on previous experience with Splatoon 3 since there isn’t much else known about Splatoon 3 gameplay. Maybe Nintendo has learned from its past mistakes in releasing sequels. These games should be released sooner than three years apart, rather than taking so much time.
It was a surprise when the sequel was announced. Nintendo did not give any clues that a sequel to one of the Switch’s most original games was in the works. Nintendo has been very consistent in delivering new content at a consistent pace for Splatoon 2. Perhaps this is another example of the company trying to keep its fans interested.
We won’t be able to play Splatoon 3 before 2022, and we don’t know what will happen in the meantime. As we near the new release date, we may get more information about the game. Nintendo is known for not sharing information unless it’s essential. They may even hold back announcements when they feel the time is right.
However, we will likely see another Direct devoted to Splatoon 3 before its release. It would be logical for Nintendo to continue with the Splatoon 2 Direct — which would make sense considering its short lifespan –. Then we will learn all there is about the game. We still have at least two more years before we can get our hands on the next instalment of the series. So make sure you check back often for new information.
Teasers for new specials will appear in Turf Wars and other multiplayer competitive games. You can also transform your arm into an ink grappling hook to throw yourself across the map. We also get our first glimpse of the “Mammalian threat” that threatens squid youths across the globe. Furry creatures may be extinct.
When will Splatoon 3 be released?
We also mentioned that Nintendo had announced that Splatoon 3 would arrive in 2022 during The Game Awards. A YouTube video also showed that Splatoon 3 will be coming in 2022. It is available below.
At least one thing is sure: It will come out on Nintendo Switch and not mobile as many thought.
What do you think of the Splatoon 2 DLC expansion?
We don’t know the exact release date. Still, three additional weapons and gear are available for online multiplayer or Salmon Run Horde. Below is a video showing all the new goodies. This video is courtesy of Nintendo Treehouse.
What can we learn from Splatoon 3’s story mode?
It’s quite a lot! It will take place two years after Splatoon 2. The story revolves around the Mammalian race’s invasion, a furry creature that appears to have gone extinct. Expect new single-player levels, boss fights, and multiplayer modes that fully utilize the September Direct specials. Below is a trailer that shows some of these new modes in action.
Does amiibo support exist?
Yes! Yes! In the first wave, new designs will be made for Pearl, Marina, and Octoling Girl/Gire.
